I would like to thank Long Zheng From istartedsomething for taking these beautiful screenshots of today's Keynote.

    Windows 7 Pre-beta Features Revealed

    BitLocker™ Drive Encryption

    What this feature does
BitLocker Drive Encryption (BitLocker) is available on computers running Windows 7 Enterprise Edition and Windows 7 Ultimate Edition. Should your computer be lost or stolen, BitLocker protects your data by helping to prevent offline software attacks. Turning on BitLocker encrypts the hard drive where Windows is installed, including all information that is stored on that drive.

    Device Stage

You can turn this feature off by going to Devices and Printers in Control Panel. Right-click your computer icon, and then click Device Installation Settings. Select “No, let me choose what to do” and click to clear the “Display enhanced device icons…” check box.

    Driver Protection

Driver Protection helps prevent the operating system from starting drivers that are known to cause stability problems.

    Gadgets

Gadgets are programs that run on the desktop and provide at-a-glance information, and easy access to frequently used tools.

    HomeGroup

A HomeGroup allows you to easily link Windows 7 computers on your home network so that you can share pictures, music, videos, documents and devices. It also makes them ready to stream media to devices on your home network such as a media extender. You can help protect your HomeGroup with a password, and you can choose what you want to share.

    Why lie about it?

It was one of those average days for me when I think nothing could possibly go wrong but walking into a Best Buy created  6a00d8345449c069e200e54f8317c38834-640wisome trouble. While I was browsing around the computer department I discover myself seeing a Mac section. Out of curious I took a look around to see what the big fuss was about. From what I understood, the Mac section was a new addition to Best Buy and there were people praising the holy Mac. I thought to myself, “Why are these people so easily astonished by these lies?”  This force me to ask the store clerk “what are the advantages of Mac over a Windows Pc.” She briefly said, “Macs are more stable than windows because they receive there drivers and updates from only one source unlike windows where its from variety of Companies which makes it unstable.” Then what surprised me the most was when she mention that Vista recommends 3gb of ram to run smooth where as the Mac recommends only 1gb of memory. I honestly told her that my system only has 1.5gb of ram and it runs great. Then an little silence made its way into the conversations. The clerked started rambling about how Macs are much prettier than those bulking windows computers while she was pointing at one of the HP Pavilion laptops. Convincing myself that she was full of it wasn't hard at all, therefore I kept myself quiet. I then asked her another question, it was if I’m able to customize the UI. Without thinking, she quickly said you can only do that with a Linux and that Windows and Macs are balanced when it comes to customizing. I then told her about this software called Windows Blinds. She seem uncertain of what it was. Well  I’m please to say that she didn't know the advantages Windows have over Macs. The conversation ended with a awkward silence. After I left Best buy. I  couldn't believe hearing such BS from anyone than that clerk. Never again will I walk into the Mac Section!
